CONSULTINGGlossary

Prompt Engineering

Prompt Engineering is the skill of formulating requests (prompts) to AI in such a way as to obtain the desired result. The right prompt is the difference between "nonsense" and "just the thing."

What is Prompt Engineering?

Prompt - a text request to the language model. Prompt Engineering - the ability to write these prompts effectively. This is not programming. This is closer to a clear TOR for the contractor.

Key principles: • Context - explain who you are, why you need the result, who is the target audience • Specifications - "write 3 title options for the Landing Page of dentistry in Kyiv, the tone is friendly, up to 10 words" • Format - specify the type of response: table, list, JSON, HTML • Restrictions - what NOT to do: do not invent facts, do not exceed 200 words

The difference between a bad prompt and a good one is the difference between 5 minutes of work and 2 hours of editing.

How does Prompt Engineering work?

You formulate a request → the model processes it → generates a response. The model does not read thoughts - she responds to what was written. Experienced prompt engineers use the following techniques: Chain of Thought (step-by-step reasoning), Few-Shot (examples of results), Role Play (setting a role).

Usage options for Prompt Engineering

01Marketing

One good prompt = 10 text options in 2 minutes instead of 2 hours of copywriter work.

02Sales

Prompt for analysis of correspondence: "find objections that we have not closed." CRM + AI = insights in seconds.

03HR

Job generation, resume screening, interview questions. One prompt replaces 40 minutes of manual work.

04Analytics

"Analyze sales for the quarter, find 3 trends and propose actions." Instead of an analyst for $2000/month.

/ FAQ

No. Prompts are written in plain language. You need to understand how the model "thinks" and be able to structure the query.
